Colonel: Good luck with your next tour of duty. Hope you will keep us posted.
Please consider commenting not only about noteworthy historical events that unfold, but also about how a military historian goes about collecting data on those events. For example:
1] Will you be embedding at battalion or lower and squadron level, or go for the bigger picture at higher headquarters units, or both?
2] What would be a typical number of daily interviews/debriefings?
3] Hope you include some enlisted, NCO & JO point of views.
4] How does a historian handle OPSEC issues?
4] Will your histories be of the lessons learned type that include "warts and all"?
5] Plus a thousand other questions that I am not yet smart enough to ask.

PS - I see Cazenovia (interesting name) is not too far from Rome. How about a future post (after you return) on Ft Stanwix.
Sir,
Found you via Op-For and I'm really looking forward to reading. I'd enjoy speaking with you as I have a love for history as well. Please let me know if you happen to come to my part of Iraq next year.
